Our playground two blocks away has a slide that angles up at the end, and through bad design, catches the rain. But when getting dirty is this much fun, why protest?

He’s been obsessed with a treasure trove of his Grandpa’s wooden puzzles. We recently received a stack of them, dusty from sitting on a shelf in Ed’s garage, and Theodore has memorized them, completing all ten up to three times a day.

Here’s an attempt to compile the growing number of words Theodore can speak. These are rapidly being added to the sign language he’s used for the last year. The qualification is that after the first syllable, he drops most of the successive syllables. The important thing is, though, when he sees a caterpillar in a book and excitedly exclaims “Cat!”, we know he knows we’re not talking about a cat.
