Snowman

Whenever there’s a fan in a room, he can’t take his eyes off of it… if you walk around, his neck cranes to follow it.

First snow of the autumn, first snow for Zeke. Theodore helped brush off icy snow stuck to leaves not yet fallen, his swings, and every flat surface, then slid down the slide (in a very halting, frozen fashion).

The other night he told me for the first time that something was “really cool”… I fast-forwarded several years and back in an instant. So I decided to make sure: “Do you mean the card from your Grandma is ‘cold,’ or ‘neat’?” “Really neat!”
At least we know he didn’t pick it up from TV…

I’ve felt privileged to watch their relationship develop. They like each other. It’s funny, Theodore has a rather high voice when talking (or singing, which he’s increasingly practicing around the house), but he also has a second voice an octave higher when talking just to Zeke… (and they both love the green button.)

Edge first, then through the middle, then the kittens, then the flowers and leaves… (no help needed Daddy, but you can sit here and watch)

I’ve sensed all along how much companionship they will provide each other, but it becomes more apparent each day. Theodore is drawn to Zeke like a magnet, and Zekie watches Theodore intently, as K has said, like he’s memorizing everything.

Big transition. He hasn’t been apart from us, but for a handful of times. The first week was a bit rough, but he’s quickly settled in.
