The evening before his birthday, he fell asleep on the drive home after a non-stop day at the zoo. When I greeted him the next morning, he seemed crestfallen. “Daddy, first I need to take a bath, then have my peach vitamin, then brush teeth, then read a sleepy book, then go to sleep, then it’s my birthday!” At that point I got to tell him, it is your birthday! You skipped all those things!

I’m still debating whether it was a good decision to eliminate all the barriers at the new Predator’s Ridge lion habitat at the Denver Zoo…

Very easy baby, very noisy baby (not noisy cries–noisy yawns, noisy sighs, etc.), and beginning to be a very smily baby…

I think we all like you a lot, Zekie.

Brand new face, try it out.

He still needs it. Not as much as the baby, and its patterns can be somewhat unpredictable at times, but he sleeps hard. He puts his hands behind his head a lot when sleeping; my wife tells me it runs in her family.
