Carrots (The day the tube came out)

Filed under: All Posts, Ezekiel, Theodore — mike @ 11:07 am

The NG tube is history. To sum up: seven and a half weeks of steady progress toward drinking from a squeeze bottle and eating significant amounts of food. In that time, he’s gained almost 4.5 lbs (and 2″ in height). More and more calories successfully swallowed, meaning less calories needed invasively. Until finally, he did it! He drank (and ate) all the daily calories he needed by 4 in the afternoon. There’s still a long road ahead of us, but congratulations all.

And yep, first haircut too.

Works of Art

Filed under: All Posts, Theodore — mike @ 11:06 pm

Some of our recent favorites from Theodore’s preschool efforts:

little red hen collage

sun collage

He recently awoke from what sounded like a vivid dream:
[loudly from his bedroom] “Daddy! Daddy! I saw panthers!” Where? I asked. “Two of them, in our backyard!” We’ll have to create some artwork for that…

Other recent sayings:
“Can I have the rest of the mustachios (pistachios)?” [This was almost as good as mixing up Colorado and Avocado.]

“Let’s jump, goosebump!”

“Can we listen to music? First, can we listen to Yellow Submarine, then the song about No, then rock and roll band music?!” [The Beatles, They Might Be Giants, and then something fast and danceable]

And then one morning when I was applying deodorant, which he likes to pretend to do after me, he asks, “Maybe what we should do, when it’s my birthday, this summer, we should get me my OWN Deeodee-ent!”
