Alpha Transparency

Zeke is obsessed at the moment with:

1. Climbing (chairs, beds, stairs, anything will do)
2. Lights and light switches
3. Birds and the bird feeder (He flutters his fingers toward his palm to sign “bird”. Often)
4. Belly buttons
5. Stepping outside whenever a door is opened
6. Train sounds (we’re about a mile from the tracks, and we hear faint diesel horns or whistles throughout the day and night) — he’ll stop whatever he’s doing and make an “O” face. One night around 2 am he heard one and sat up wide awake mimicking it.
7. His brother.

Zeke received his electric toothbrush first, as a helpful oral stimulation toy, but once Theodore got one too (thanks Grandma T), we realized they had a lot of fun brushing together.

Zeke is now a full-fledged walking maniac. It’s not practice anymore, it’s a complete switch from crawling. He’s so cute, making U-turns and shrieking with pride. Unfortunately, he’s also really into gripping objects in both hands, leading to awkward falls… try cushioning your impact with a carrot in one hand and a slide-whistle in the other.
